This plastic bracelet with swirls caught my eyes in the charity store today. I'm not sure about what kind of plastic is it made from, but it's certainly carved, not moulded and rather heavy. Can it be Bakelite? I haven't got Simichrome at this moment, when I buy one, will test it.

I think it's Lucite. It's not carved - there is no design. It's molded.

Thank you Valentino, Lentilka, Bonnie and Pascale for your comments and everybody for the love clicks !!! :)
Bonnie, I don't think it's moulded, it has no seams but has numerous parallel thin lines inside, like after carving. To me carved means the shape was made by hand or machine, not only the details on the surface.

      Yep, cut, not molded :-)

Val, if you zoom into the pics, you can see those lines. Especially second pic, inner surface, middle upper part.

The bangle looks great! To me it doesn't look like bakelit. The color and the swirls look similar to other bangles I have seen that has been lucite and other not so dense plastics. But we'll know for sure when you have tested it :)
