I picked this up at a flee market years ago. Probably came from India but not sure. The brass on this is a very very thin sheet that has been overlayed onto a wood frame. The brass is very pretty and detailed. It is in nice condition

I wouldn't think so, it has a velvet lining, but maybe it was added later??. Is yours posted, if not would like to see it and compare.
