My new favourite Delftware.
This charming jug has come to me as part of a large private collection of antiques that I have purchased from an elderly gentleman.
I'd never been a great fan of blue & white but find this item brings a real smile. Sadly the gentleman recalls little about it other than he was told it had been dated to around 1760 and had cost him a fortune!
I'd love to hear if anybody could confirm any facts from what they see of it.
It stands at around 26 cm high and around 22 cm across.
I can see that it has had some restoration but it does little to spoil it's charm for me.
