I'm trying to find out if this is an old insulator. My son found it in southern Ohio where a railroad may have ran. It is approximately 13" tall from and the ceramic diameter is around 6". The ceramic is stained to look like wood.

How cool. My Dad has things like this around his house. He has two electric plug parts, one made of wood and the same part from another era made of Bakelite. It amazes me wood was used in electrical things.
