This clock was a gift from my Father. He is in the process of moving into a smaller house and I always liked this clock. I always admired it even in my childhood. Now I have it on my bureau. It checked out fine by a local antique dealer however I cannot seem to figure out how to keep the pendulum swinging. After a few swings back and forth it stops. I am wondering if it is because it is old and really hasn't ran for years.
It is made by The Sessions Clock Company, CT. It is an 8 day wind. It has a hand written note on the back that reads "Sold November 20, 1914" I had to get a key for it and went to a local antique dealer who told me that it was probably correct on the date.
I am very fond of it and hope to figure out how to get it to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated. =->

Most older clocks stop working because the oil gets hard and gummy. It's possible that it only needs a good cleaning and service to get it running again. Check around your area for any clock clubs or clock repair shops, it should not cost much to service if you find the right guy.
