A nice lady gave me this after helping clean her recently deceased husbands workshop. He was 78 and she said it was likely his fathers or grandfathers. The bubbles are glazed in and the markings on the bubbles appear to be hand inked. There is not one spec of brass on this nor are there any markings to identify it. I would love to know its age!

I would say it is most probably around 1940's. During those years metals went toward the war effort. I have one like this that was my father in laws that is late 1930's. Most newer wooden levels are brass bound mahogany.
