Koken Barber Stand

I just had this Koken Barber Stand restored and i am having trouble finding any information on it. On top of the stand it has a plated metal piece that is numbered 1 through 6 and has a slot beside each number that goes down into the top right drawer that also is divided into 6 sections. I am not sure what this is for? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Doug
