any ideas on this piece, I'm not sure what this would be called, bottle, jug, or decanter, It does have hallmarks on it, could it be sterling?

The marks:
1st on the left, GNRH = George Nathan & Ridley Hayes
2nd from left, Lion = .925 sterling silver
3rd from left, shield w/ 3 "mushrooms = Chester, England
4th from left "B" = 1902
Not sure what it is though. Dimensions and pictures with the cap off might help. It's very pretty!

I think it might be a tea caddy. Chester is known for for small items such as beakers and cream jugs. becausse they closed the Assay Office in Chester in August 1962 any item with the "wheatsheaves" mark is very collectible.
One thing tho' is the lid/cap marked as well? It should have a similar mark although it may not be marked in full.
Knowing it is a tea caddy you will find a variety of items by this maker on the net. It seems it was a busy year in 1902 for George Nathan & Ridley Hayes. They did a variety of designs of this type. Yours looks like it might be a Georgian scene .... could even be American colonial?
