Found this at a yard sale and have no idea what it is. I was thinking a key fob, but why would the Paramount number individual key fobs?

Seat number?
I was thinking that, but would it have actually hung on a seat? I was also thinking it might be a watch fob but i don't see how seat number would be tied in with that. Unless reserved seat?
Coat-check tag. One would stay on the hanger with your coat and you'd get a 2nd in order to identify and reclaim your coat at the end of the performance.

I should have asked (before throwing out my guess) but how big is it (an inch-ish in dia?) and what's it made of? (pressboard of some sort, or is it metal?) Also, any idea what Paramount it could have come from?
About an inch or so, not too big. It's some sort of pressboard and it'd be from the Paramount in Boston.
