Sharing my desk from the 1800s it's all original I have not seen another one it is a very cool desk.

I'm sorry but I don't think this is a gentleman's desk. There are two areas where women have been stencilled on. The other thing that points this not being a desk, is there is no space for a chair to pull up under the top, that space has been taken by a cupboard.
Also I don't think it's sturdy enough to be for a man.
It belongs in a ladies bedroom or dressing room. Don't think it's a dresser because there's no mirror, but a ladies table for sure.
Also notice a stretcher running from side to side, quite near to the bottom which doesn't look as if a man would want to rest, or put his feet on - another obstruction for a chair.
Don't think it is a dresser either. Looks more like a sideboard, but the decorative pieces of the lady are a little odd, so maybe some other use as mentioned by previous poster.
Additionally, it doesn't look like a 19th century piece. Overall it looks like something from the 20th century. Photos of the drawer construction and the large section (opened) may be helpful in dating.
