This was in a batch of photos I got recently--It is hard for me to see the back text, but with enlargement here I believe it says Zurich.
The size is 6X4 SEE ALL 4 PHOTOS PLEASE.
The numbers mean nothing to me. I think it is a great photo of a train, and it is a steam engine. I am not sure when those quit running.
It is a real photo--but not a photo postcard and just on photographic paper.
Is there anything here that can give a hint of the age--or do you know what the numbers mean? I think there are train collectors here that may know. Thanks

Love it, My guess is c1920 conversions to electric and diesel power beginning in the late 1930s with the majority of steam locomotives retired from regular service by the 1980s but still a few in service mainly for tourism, Great image.
Thanks Political Pinbacks--I used to ride in a train from Chicago to Duluth Minnesota, every summer to visit my grandparents. It was an overnighter, with compartments and "sleepers: with olive heavy division curtains , upper and lower. My mom always got us a lower, and the "porters" were all in white and they were black. My tooth got loose and I was throwing a fit, and a porter came and pulled it for me! Always then I loved the Pullman Porters for their kindness!!They were wonderful to everybody!
A great memory and story, ah the little things that shape our life's.

It is relevant that we do recall with joy the memories that"sunk in" as kids. It is sometimes very quirky that what we do remember, influences the feelings we have today.We can totally forget the big things that our parents remember--and remember very well--that things they forgot. I remember the things my parents told me about their childhood. The stories were many. I am glad they shared.
