I have been looking at some older jukeboxes someone is fixing up and then he sells them. This Evans is built in Mexico. Sorry all the photos are sideways I took them on my cell will get better photos on my camera. Evans is originally out of Chicago and are better known for producing casino machines. They tried the market around 1948 and around 6 or 7 years later sold everything to 2 business men from Mexico who with the tools and dies continued to build jukeboxes. This model I believe is the Monoco or Maya and from the information I have found was produced around late 1954 or 1955. The man also has an older non working Wurlitzer and some other models I will get some photos of later. If anyone is familiar with the Evans jukeboxes your input will be much appreciated.

Thomas the earlier Evans were still using 78's and usually held 20 records so only had 40 selections. This jukebox holds 50 45's with 100 selections. It is not in the same class as a wurlitzier still it's an older jukebox. The man has many 45's with the majority in Spanish. Some of the 45's that were going to be put in the Evans were English like the Bee Gees. I never checked them all out. His 33 1/3" are mostly in English. One day I will go through all of them.

The man was copying the record names on the inserts and I haven't seen it in operation yet. It is a neat old juke box for sure Roy!! I will have to keep an eye out for Freddie Fender records he recorded in Spanish like Elvis Don't be cruel / No Seas Cruel or Hank Williams Cold cold Heart / Tu frio Corazon.
