I think these are at least 50 years old. A friend gave them to me. It's hard to distinguish what kind of animal they are--bears? They came as a pair and the male figure was holding a pipe and a red or yellow wristband (there might have been numbers on it).
The female figure held a wooden spoon.
The faces are not cloth--they are a hard substance that is cracking from age. Their arms and legs are made of a felt-like fabric.
Both are wearing their original clothing.
If anyone has any information, I would be very thankful as I have always wanted to learn more about them.

Not really sure but they look like 'Bearnstein Bears' I think I'd start there...but I'm not an expert, I Bearly know anything.......
thanks for the input. i just found out that they are steiff hedge hogs from the early 1950s. it seems there was a hit tv show in germany featuring this hedge hog family -- the husband was mecki and the wife micki.
so excited i finally know what they are!
Yes, you are right, Mecki & Micki. So cute I had one given to me years ago by a friend from Germany.
