I think these dolls may be:

1937 Alexander McGuffey Ana doll, 13", circle X on neck & 13 marked on back

1934-1937 Ideal Ginger doll, 13", chin dimple, glass eyes, back of head says Ideal and USA 13 marked on back

they were played with and show signs of cracking; tags are cut from outfits (other clothes as well)

is there any value in these dolls?

thanks for any information you can provide!!

Looks like Anna McGuffey on left the one in Blue is wearing a original Shirley Temple style dress and is a Ginger doll I agree with you and she looks like Shirley Temple . Some theories on why she is not marked Shirley Temple on back was to avoid paying Shirley Temple royalties on her . Both are Composition and with crazing and cracking . The crack above eye's are often a problem . The Shirley's dress is not in great condition but collectors love to find the original clothes ,It was from Movie Poor Little Rich Girl. You might try looking at completed listings on them on ebay for prices . They will not not bring much in today's market :-( But I believe in saving and restoring dolls so someone will fix them up and stop the crazing and reinforce crack above eye's . Very nice

THANK YOU!! Very very helpful information - much appreciated!
I checked ebay and you are right. Will probably just label and hold on to them for the foreseeable future. Take care,
