I got this a few weeks ago for $5 at an auction. You see it just before the stove polish was applied, and just after. In its auction state, none of the words could be read due to rust. It was basically scaly rust all over. I soaked the small parts, doors, legs etc. in vinegar and water for a week to get rid of the rust. I blasted it with a power washer, covered it in paint stripper, blasted it again and sanded it. I was impressed by how well the stove polish worked. I will use it where it sits in the photo, as an Appalachian version of a Chimenea.

wow that really cleaned up great. Love it. Never know what you will find under the rust and dirt. I had just cleaned up a old cast iron light and found the pat. date of march 16, 1875
