Marking on bottom is difficult to make out. Solid glass, small opening on top. Stand 3 in high 3/4 wide at base. Would love to know what it is, who made it and when..what was it used for?

Hi, and welcome whatisthis, could you show the bottom and top? It may help, but it does look like some sort of insulator. Someone will know! :^)

Sure does...I've never seen one like this before that I recall! There's a site that has extensive research listed for all, completed and very informative where you will most likely be able to find one like this. It may take you a good amount of time, but it may be worth the work to find it. I'll see if I can find it for you and be back. This is a great one although I'm not positive what you are showing is actually a makers mark, don't know...

It may be a stand off insulator, or for a neon light? Just guesses! :^)

Any and all input is valued. I will try looking at stand off and neon light. I reside in southern NJ near several glass manufactures that made insulators..I had no idea.

It looks like it rolled around in the ocean for a while.
The top part looks like a building wiring insulator, which are similar to neon light insulators.

I found it buried under 2-3 inches of dirt in my yard..the other 2 that I posted were buried next to this one. I had no clue what it was.thought it was a fuse or lightbulb from something..I accidently stumbled on insulators during my search. I can not find anything that looks like them. All 3 of them are 1solid piece..was wondering if a dome or capi s missing.
