I bought this stool today from a small shop. The lady said it was her mother's. And had always been painted. Chipping very badly. I would love to get it off. It looks like those piano stools.but smaller and the seat does not adjust. Has metal claw feet with glass balls on the bottom. Anyone every see one like it? Thanks! About to scrub it up. Should of done that before posting.

Looks like a piano stool, to me. I have one that is not cushioned on top, but very similar wood work. It went with an old upright we used to have.
I thought it looks just like them. Possibly top seat added? It kinda matches the ugly paint. But this one is small. Only 2 feet tall. So thought the real seats were bigger? I got it for $25 do thought it would make a good plant stand. After i clean it up that is. Thanks for commenting!
I'm wondering if, under that padding, there isn't a beautiful wood seat that unwinds to make the seat higher. Not fond of the padding. This might be a good stripping project to bring it back to the original wood, at least on the base portion.
I actually lifted the padding some to see. And it has 3 wood pieces and then padding. Im guessing they took off the seat and adjuster. I can get a picture in a minute of that lifted spot. Any thoughts are welcomed!

Oh, that's too bad about the seat. Keep your eye out at flea markets. But, it would still look nice to restore the base and maybe reupholster a nicer top. Still a great stool!
Yes first getting off some of this paint. Then find a nice material. Just to match my house better. But it makes a nice plant stand. Thanks for commenting! And have a great day!
