I don't know what the material is - maybe Bakelite or maybe Celluloid. I have to buy some Simichrome. It looks carved to me. There are no seams and it's heavy. Also small - I can't get it over my hand. The opening is only 2 1/2 " wide. For the price, I thought I'd take a chance.
Anybody know?

Ken - I did as you suggested - no smell at all. :-(((
MsCrystalShip - it's too wide for a napkin ring. Those are about 1 1/2 inches wide or about 50mm. This ring/bracelet is bigger in diameter. The height - from bottom to top - is 1 3/4 inches.
