Hi - I've had this Coca-Cola bottle in my collection for quite some time but have never really looked up information on it. After a quick search online, it appears to be a rare version of the New Bern, NC coke bottles. This bottle has "New Berne, NC" rather than New Bern, NC. The bottom of the bottom is marked 1388 or 1398. It's double stamped so it's hard to tell the exact number.

Does anyone have any information as to the age of this bottle? Is it rare or something that many collectors have?

    Thanks for the help!

Well, they quickly changed over all their bottles to their patent 1916 hobble-skirt for all Coca-Cola in cursive (script) bottles (but not 'block letter' Coca-Cola Bottling Co. bottles), so.... it dates to before WW1.
The 'double stamp' is actually an error in which the semi-molten glass slips and repeats the image (text) again. I have an insulator where letters slipped into several places on it, which is rather amusing.
You can use Advanced Search on e-Bay to see recent sold prices. Click Sold to see only that which has sold (green prices) in the last month, and Completed for both sold and unsold (black prices) bottles. Use only identical bottles (not necessarily down to the detail of the mold number on your bottle, but look at the the script and city spelling) in identical shape (case-wear, staining, etc.) coming from the U.S. to assume value-- factor in their shipping price as well, if it sold.

Thanks for the help! There are a lot of the correct spelling, "New Bern, NC" that have sold on EBay but only one that had sold with the old spelling and it looks as though the buyer got a good deal. In 2015, It was advertised as New Bern, NC but if you look closely at the bottle, it is the incorrect version with New Berne, NC. It's definitely rare but there's not enough information out there to determine if it's collectible as an error bottle.

Thanks again for the information! If anyone out there has the same bottle with the same incorrect spelling, please chime in.

      Thanks!
      Scott
