A view from the top. Also there are slots for paper and coin on the sides .
Hahne's was an upscale department store, so what is the connection to the bank?

There no connection with a Bank, on the plate it's saying "Deposit purchase Department ", so it's specialy made for Hahne.
When the bank was full customers go back there and get the amount credited for General store purchase.
On the the top it should say"patent applied for" those with this mention are from 1904 to 1910, as being quite a number produced because the number on your plate is # 10934
      Hope this help.

      Regards
      Alan
