Given the similarities between the below items and the markings on the base follow the same pattern as other Harrach glass it is definitely produced from this factory.

    http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-904.html
    http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-72.html

Harrach exhibited in the Sydney world exhibition in 1879 so given the second item is put down as c1870 this would match a c1870 attribution.

Could it be a Worcester mark? Unfortunately i don't have my books with the marks in them as someone has borrowed them.

Check out the following link. There are two jugs similar to your, both are marked though

Yes it does look to be not only the same shape and size but it is not inconceivable that the the "W" stands for Worcester.
Maybe someone else in Worcester was making similarly styled products in glass as I have not seen anything from Royal Worcester for the period made out of glass.
The decoration around the rim of the ewer is quite unique.
Someone who has better knowledge of this may be able to at least date it from this and the other decorations?

Oh, it's glass, never noticed. Have you tried looking into Harrach glass? Some marks here... https://sites.google.com/site/bohemianglassandmore/harrach-alpha-numberic-markings-de-constructed

Some vases here with the same pattern number, not sure if coincidence.... http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-904.html
      http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-72.html

The pattern seems similar but not exaclty the same.

Thank you tigerchips it is definitely Harrach glass and with the same colouring and style with the same sprays of gilding as http://www.thegildedcurio.com/item-Harrach-904.html. I wonder how it ended up in Canberra, Australia?
