    PA-Pickers
    (1 item)

Me and my friend Jake are aspiring pickers. We are from southeastern Pennsylvania. We found a little honey hole of our own right on the backroads of the town we live in, Kutztown. One day we found this bike that i believe is a 50's American Machine and Foundry Roadmaster bicycle that seems to be missing the gas tank/light fixture that i see on most other AMF's that I find researching. We picked it for $10.oo. I could be wrong on the gas tank part. The bike was rusted out but most of the metal was still sound enough to use, so i started restoring the bike myself. Not the best pick in the world, but surely our first pick was a decent one!

If someone could help identifying to an exact model and year, that would be awesome! Mike and Frank rule!

My first bicycle when I was 7 was this full size bike....that was in 1957. I could at first only get on it by climbing on the bumper of my dads car then plopping myself on the bike seat. I also could only fully reach one pedal at a time but learned to work them as they came around until I grew enough for my legs to reach. My bike was red and white, had a full "tank" with a push button horn button on the right side of the tank, a headlight, and a buddy seat on the back. I rode it until it wouldn't go any longer. In the 70's, I stripped it down and painted it and rode it for several years well into my 20's. It's now in my attic, pretty much just frame, tires, handle bars and chain. I spent a lot of my life on that bike and it served me well.
