We lived in the Dakotas and Alaska and my Mom fell in love with what she called Black Hills Gold...I've always thought of it as tri-color gold. There were 3 in the safe deposit box, one she had bought for her father on Father's Day in '73 or '74 (she has a tag attached). Bought in Grand Forks, ND.

Then there were 2 female rings (LONG - like knuckle to knuckle) - she probably bought one for her Mom and one for herself or heck..maybe she bought them both or my Dad bought them for her.

Not sure if these would be considered 'vintage' but they are part of my family history knowing how much my Mom loved this particular gold/pattern. I don't think I'll be taking them to the appraiser though.

Fun to look at...wish someone in the family liked overly large rings...lol.

I really like this type of jewelry. I'd love to have some pieces.

Wow, so the term Black Hills Gold is literally correct.

Gillian, you may find yourself with one then. I think there are 2 necklaces although one was bought by my youngest so she is keeping it. I'll keep the ring she gave to her Dad and MAYBE 1 'female' ring but with both my daughters not wanting the female rings, I just don't want them shoved in a box to be opened 30 or 40 yrs (or less) when I pass and not be enjoyed.

I also love Black Hills gold, but rarely see any over here in The Netherlands.

What a lovely thought KarenLR71 - thank you. I hope you enjoyed looking through them, you'll most likely find some on eBay and Etsy.

      All the best -
