This little Emerson was posted as part of a group shot while back and he got no love... He's from 1939-1940 or there abouts and he's made of an early plastic called Plaskon. Back in the day you had all kinds of different plastics vying for supremacy in the market place. Plaskon was one of them. Like most of those early plastic though, it had a lot of issues with shrinkage, and heat, and flaking, and cracking, and warping, and on and on... This one does have a long crack on top but otherwise it's very nice! Oh, and it plays real good...

Great radio,it makes me think of the Montgomery Ward airline radio that my wife had in the late 40's growing up,and we still have. It doesn't work, and also has a crack.
