This axe is something else, meaning how hard our grandparents worked in there lifetime. the handle is off set so they would not chop off there leg while shapping logs for there house etc... the metal was made in Germany and if you flick it with a finger nail it will ring for 15 seconds, like a tuning fork. I'm guessing late 1800 early 1900 hundreds
