I just brought this lamp back from my mother's home after 56 years. I am curious to find out the history behind this beautiful heirloom. I can only find the words Miller, bryant and press on the lamp. It is very heavy and seems to be a combination of brass and pewter. Perhaps someone may add some insight.

Gorgeous piece. Miller is the maker. There's lots of info out there on the topic. Bryant usually branded the hardware; like the sockets on the shell and on the turn-key itself. The material used to cast the lamp is often referred to as White Metal as it is a mix of metals used at the foundry where the lamp base was poured.
Thanks for sharing this heirloom beauty!
