I bought this postcard at a flea market for 50 cents and chose it because I liked the building on the front. There is something amazing about finding this and just doing a quick search to see if the hotel is still around today. It turns out the Cavalier Hotel is and it is over 80 years old today (it opened in April 1927) and is considered the hotel that made Virginia Beach famous. The card is dated May 8th, 1942.
