Looking to find out about this item. Value, authenticity, production date, if its modeled after a specific player. It was found in my late grandfathers basement. The bottom of the base has an oval piece of green felt with Japan stamped on it. I want to know everything/anything about this.

That's a "team ordered" Yankees doll from the early 1960's. It's not a part of any set but was probably a special order by the Yankees to sell at the Stadium and nearby concession stands. There are two of them, one regular size (about 6.5"), the other was a mini (about 3.5"). They used to be worth quite a bit but lately the demand for "oddball" dolls has fallen a bit. The regular one is probably valued at $100-125, the mini about $150 or so.
Hope that helps.
