What you find in your parents book collection can be verrry interesting!
I wonder if Dr. Ruth would be interested? Copyright 1940. Cadillac Publishing Co. Printed in USA. It comes with a warning label. 'This book is a translation by Norman Haire, CH.M., M.B., from "Das Sexualleben in seiner biologischen Bedeutung". It is intended for circulation only among mature persons, twenty-one years of age or over. They had other books too. Any suggestions on a reference/how to guide for book values?

There is two pages to that link. The highest goes up to around $30
Thank you. I have a number of books that have been in storage or on display for years. Looking for general information to rate books, cover, publisher, any special markings I should be looking for etc...
Publisher, date, and cover. If you google "rare books" there are several sites where you can obtain prices. However be more realistic than some of the sellers on these sites. The very best way to know worth is to check completed listings on ebay
Thank you,
On abe.com you'll find this book from $3.64 to $75.00 (even new , on demands printings for $50ish). Vesta's right, these are asking prices.

to search the other books.
It is not a simple science. Some books are rare (few out there) and what are out there are priced high, but there is no demand.
Others are rare, but someone has one and doesn't know the rarety and prices theirs low, lowering the prices for all of them.
Others put dream high prices and to get a buyer is like hitting the lottery, but they hope someone hits on theirs with out see the 2000 other copies that are cheaper.
The other major issue, is these sites tell you what is out there, and whey people are asking ... but not if any are being sold, nor the price of the ones that sold.
Condition is a factor as well. Your may be a 10 on a scale of 1 to 10, and someone has a 1, with pages missing and cover trashed, listed for 99 cents... and it will affect the price of yours.
And, E-bay with half.com killed much of the book market making books that once were a good sell at 10-20.00 sell for 99 cents now.
