This Singer Featherweight dated Oct. 28th, 1947, has the rarely seen "Bakelite" motor marked "Made in the U.S.A.". They were made to appease the Canadian market, unhappy with the steel motor previously and subsequently made & marketed by the Elizabethtown, N.J., USA Singer manufacturing plant. The Singer Model 221-1 owner's manual {Form 20332 (Rev. 248) pictures this scare motor on pages 24 & 27. (the only manual to do so).
We were very fortunate to happen upon this prized collectable!

    Nancy,
Thank you...we've been fortunate in finding some scarce/ rare pieces for our group. This particular machine has little to no vibration and runs "s m o o t h !"
    It's a "little sweetie"
