I have a large collection of costume jewelry. I am curious about this particular necklace. The deep gray colored beads are very heavy! Would anyone know what the beads are? This has no makers mark, but looks like a quality piece.

This is a nice piece, quality for sure! I collect vintage costume jewelry and have studied about it intensely and can honestly say I cant remember ever seeing similar hardware. How long have you had the piece? Maybe its a newer piece? The beads are maybe glass since you say its heavy. Possibly Onyx. Let us know if you find out:)
The gray beads could be hematite.
I agree with the opinion of Davyd286 it is probably Hematite
