I found this in my Grandfather's house. It's an unopened bottle of Special Reserve American Bourbon Whiskey from 1938 (printed on bottle). The lable on the bottle states at the bottom: "sole distributors for cuba" and "Herman's Store, Prado St 256, Havana Cuba". This bottle appears to be a cuban good marketed towards American Tourists. It has the original packaging with a label that reads: "Herman's Store, Cigars, Liquors, Perfumes, Cuban Novelties, and Alligator Goods. Telef: A-8086 - Prado St. No. 256, Habana, Cuba." It also reads on the side: "Everybody knows Herman's in Havana" though that part of the lable is ripped in the middle.
I am trying to find out several things: Are the contents still drinkable? It appears there has been some evaporation over the years (see pictures). And, of course, how much is the bottle worth? I would appreciate any advice! I'm kinda lost with this kind of thing. Thanks!
