      Not sure what you payed for it ,or its age with no more info but if is vintage the value could really be up there. Search ebay to see what has sold. These types of collectibles can bring in good money!

      I'm not sure of the age either. Up close and personal he looks old. I've seen vintage chalk pieces, and it looks and feels like those. Only paid like $10 for him. The place I get my antiques doesn't seem to know when they have good stuff. I saw another one of him on an episode of American Pickers. Looked just like him, and they said it was some old carnival toy or something like that.

      This item is most definitely black Americana. judging from it's color, it is probably from around the 1960's or 70's. History tells us that most of the earlier figures were extremely dark containing grossly exaggerated figures. These figures were used for amusement and or classification of blacks that were brought to this country. I have collected these items for many years. Sometime in the near future I will upload items from the 19th and 20th century that I have in my collection.
