Evidently Mr. Hammond wasn't the only one who saw gold in day and date clocks, this is the only Day and Date clocks that GE produced in 1940. The date is easy to change, but the day you have to cycle through past midnight to change, unlike Mr. Hammond's easy to change day and date knob in the back.

The clock features a mahogany case with brass feet, bezel and hands. The light cream dial features black numerals, the day and date are in red letters and numbers.

The clock runs smoothly and the day and date change at midnight, slowly, but they do change.
