This streamlined beauty, the Pennwood "Imperial," was introduced ca. 1938 and produced until about 1960, with a pause during World War II. It was available in brown Bakelite with white Tenite fins, white Plaskon with red fins, and black Bakelite with either white or red Tenite fins. Apparently the pre-war model was also available with clear Lucite fins, but I've never seen one. This particular clock is quite rare, in that all three fins are intact, they're red, not the much more common white, and it's a pre-war model with the older style numerals and "The Pennwood Co." embossed on the back time-set access hatch -- pre "Pennwood-Numechron." (I've seen this model called the "Century" as well. Haven't found the definitive reference yet...)

      Thanks, Phil. Yes, it's electrically powered - Hansen motor I think. Base measures about 4 1/2" x 10" and it's 4 1/2" tall.
