Thought I would post a pic of my Danish Modern teak dining set project I found recently. Just finished the table and it looks completely different! I sanded it down and rubbed it with teak oil. Chairs will be joining it soon.

Wow-now thats beautiful! I love teak furniture. You did a great job on it.
Thanks so much! Teak is my favorite. Can't wait to do the chairs.
Hello, I just stumbled upon this page and your table looks great ! I have almost the same one, was it difficult to sand down? Mine has a sort of hard gloss that has hairline lines (two) on the top and I need to get them fixed but had no idea how to do this....your solution seems do-able. Please feel free to email me directions on your process. My Mum got this table and the chairs in 1969 in Germany :) thanks in advance !
Thanks! It's not to difficult to sand but you have to be very careful to not go through the veneer. It may look like solid wood but I gaurantee it's not. I bought a table just like this one last week and sanded right through and ruined it. Be careful of the corners and edges. Then its a matter of just adding teak oil. Might want to try just rubbing it down with 0000 steel wool and teak oil. Hope this helps. :)
Thanks! What is the brand of the oooo steel wool and teak oil? This will be my very first project and I want to get all the information upfront so that I will not make a mistake and ruin it. Do you just lightly sand it (enough to get the shine off it or is THAT the veneer) and then add the he teak oil? thanks so much in advance, I can't wait to try it and see if I can get those hair lines out of the table top and re-do it like new ....You table looks FABULOUS !!!! You did a really great on it ! thanks again.
