Hi, I was wondering if anyone could give me some kind of idea as to the age of this tweezer. I found it with a metal detector in the area of Fort Ord in California. (California Militia,Civil War Era.) Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Locking tweezers such as those bear more investigation, for sure!

You might try googling someone who deals in antique medical equipment and run this item by them. It is too ornate for day-to-day use in my opinion.

not much corrosion for a dug item ~ any chance they are hallmarked??

      What is a "roach clip?"

Could you give us an idea as to size? it's really hard to tell from the picture but it looks to be about 5" long.

I only know from "hearsay"... when a "funny" cigarette got really small, it made it easier to hold...the locking mechanism would have held it in place.

it's exactly 6 inches long in the open position.

Slow ? ...I don't think so but you know that they say if you remember the '60's, you weren't there! Oh, the things I've forgot !

In Orlando, at the Colonial Plaza there was The Carnaby Shop where you could buy bellbottom pants with colored inserts and matching vests. See through shirts with balloon sleeves and knee high leather moccasians. In the parking lot, facing the Rocking Chair Theatre was the Infinite Mushroom. The air is thick with inscence as black lights bring psychedelic posters to life. Tom's Pizza is 15 cents a slice and next door the Beefy King is also selling Hammys!
