This was my toy given to me by my grandfather in the 1950's.
I think it is a Tippco, Motorrad TCO 59, or motor bike TCO 59. I believe it was made in the US Zone Germany, although there is no indication of this on the toy. It's an example of the classic early post-war tin litho clockwork toys manufactured by Tipp & Co, Nuremberg, Germany, U.S. Zone.
The toy represents an early 1940's era motorcycle. It has a red and cream body and gray Dunlop Cord tyres, a head light, and rear saddle bags. The driver wears a khaki canvas uniform, leather boots, gloves, and blue helmet. “Training wheels” keep him upright.
The cyclist is powered with a small clockwork motor in the saddle bags and has an attached key. The training wheels are not angled , instead the front wheel can be pitched either to the left or the right. After it’s wound up it glides smoothly across the floor, either in a straight line or in a wide or narrower circle. Best of all……it works well and the motor is still strong!
I have to admit I played with it a lot! It is not in the best of condition. I do not have the box and the toy no longer has its windscreen.
Every time I see the toy I remember my grandfather Maurice O'Reilly of Millockstown, Ardee, County Louth, north of Dublin in Ireland. He bought me many toys but this is the one I have kept all these years.

Hi Marty! Thanks for these; the variety of the models is amazing. And to think that some youngsters kept their toys in original boxes. I regret my wanton ways!
Its so amazing when you see a toy like this well cared for, and they are always a great find at a good auction, when you are lucky enough. Nice to keep toys that have that special bond with your grandfather.
Thanks again PhilDavidAlexanderMorris.
