I acquired this Bible a few years ago from an odds and ends shop that cleaned out the homes of deceased individuals. It is HUGE and in great condition. It had one owner, a Susie Gibson, who dilligently read this. There are numerous post-it-notes throughout the Bible where she marked off chapters. It is still bound together, but a few sections are loose, so I do not want to open it much, because it is quite fragile, when I have peeped inside, I found dried flowers in between a few chapters, very sweet!!
It has been bound together by an old piece of scrap fabric, under the fabric is a gorgeous leather bind that is in excellent condition.
I love the Bible because it is so wonderfully unique, however, it does not have sentimental value to me, so I tried to find the family of Susie Gibson and have had a really hard time, possibly because it is a relatively common name, not too sure.
Ideally, I would prefer to put this Bible in to the hands of a family member of Susie, but meanwhile, I would love some information on this. The bit of research I did do, found that 'Susie Gibson' was the oldest woman to live, ironically the dates on the Bible seem to match up slightly with the records that I found online. Also the article I found online said the Bible is proof of whether or not Susie was actually the oldest woman to live, and that her birth records were in this missing Bible...and that the family is looking for it as 'proof'...however this Bible does not have birth records of any kind in it, but the front cover says 98 years under the '1859' ....so not sure if that is how Susie kept up with her age...thoughts anyone? Thank you for taking the time to look over my item and to give me your information and constructive criticism....here is the article about Susie that I meant to submit...

Again...it is certainly a long shot that this was 'her' Bible... regardless, it is still a lovely piece and has to hold a certain amount of value..either sentimental for this particular 'Susie's ' family or a great collectible for someone who collect's old Bibles or religious items..
