Sometime in1945 or 46, My uncle was beginning demolition of an old abandoned home in Greenwood SC, when he found this beautiful bowl stashed under the floorboards. It looked as if someone had perhaps hastily hidden it there. It is 18” in diameter, and only has one small marking on the back. Since it was soon after the war we always assumed it was Japanese but the mark on the back is unfamiliar to both our Japanese and Chinese friends. We would love to know more about this beautiful treasure.
PS. I just found this wonderfully addicted website. I hope someone will have some insight about our bowl or at least steer me in the right direction.

The 3rd. photo over is the back, I did not post a photo of the entire back, but the dot, slash and small triangle is the only mark.
