I got this the same place I got the Tuscany vase. According to my research, it's from a 1936 Oldsmobile 6 cylinder. They used 2 different hood ornaments (or as some call them, Mascots) on the 6 cylinder models in 1936. This is the longer of the two. It has some damage in the rear, where the next piece of chrome attaches, but it wouldn't be seen when mounted on a car. It also has the some pitting, as can be expected, but the black highlight paint is in very good shape, and the stud and nut are there and not rusted. I bought it because of the strong Deco styling, And as you can see from the first and second pictures, I have gotten it off the clothespin and made a base for it. Thanks for looking!

I love this spaceship, which it really looks like one on a car, when you photograph it at the right angle !~Phil.
It sure does! Gotta love the style back then!
One of these years if I am lucky I will see a piece for auction, not yet though, but I suspect it is one of those rare ones with the price going as fast as the spaceship, so wonderful, I had to have another look. Droooling.
I found this one in a flea market type place. Persistance is the key!
