This is a black H & A Gillrey bottle embossed with a seahorse or dragon in a castle with bubbles in the glass, there are two pale green embossed bottles, which appear to read J G Comrie, Glasgow, but am not quite sure. I also have a collection of small blue medicine bottles, which include a Woodward chemist Nottingham, a small not to be taken 2 0z, a Granula Citrate of Magnesia, a taller blue not to be taken and a clear boots the chemist bottle. The smaller green bottles include Clubb's cucumber balm, James Woolley Sons & Co, Hollis's polishing fluid, G Foster Clark & Co Eiffel Tower Fruit Juice, St Jacobs oil. I also found various bitter bottles, including green Idris London, James Wilson Edinburgh, Armstrong & Dickie Dumfries, James Roberton & co Edinburgh and various bitter bottles from Cumbria. Have checked the stoneware and a few of them are by Bournes Denby and Lovatt & Lovatt, the markings are very worn.

There is also a small clear glass ink bottle, with a capital M inside a circle. I wondered if anyone knew who it was made by.

M in a circle.........Maryland Glass Corporation, Baltimore, MD (1907-c.1970s). Mark first used in 1921, according to trademark info reported in Peterson's 400 Trademarks on Glass (1968). Maryland Glass was acquired by the Dorsey Corporation in 1968, and apparently the "M" mark was discontinued sometime in the early 1970s.
Note: The "M in a circle" mark has also been used more recently by the Mosser Glass Company (Cambridge, OH, 1971-to date), but in those cases it is usually found on tableware, novelties, toothpick holders, etc.

Ah - some lovely jubly English bottles. Scrumptious.
