This ivory colored fiberglass Eames RAR Rocker has been in our family since the birth of my older sister in 1950. It has been gently used and so has all the original parts plus the original label.
I understand that although my mother used it to nurse all three of us kids, she found it less than desirable because as she would nod off to sleep, there was no support for her head and she would snap back, literally, into consciousness! Our home was full of Herman Miller as my father was an architect and loved the clean modern lines of the fifties and sixties design movement.
I am curious as to it's worth, though do not intend to sell it. Anyone have any idea?

Depending on the condition these can sometimes sell for more than 500 dollars. also depending on if its a remake or the real deal which yours seems to be, which in that case you could probably get more than 500. I have been looking for one of these for a long time. Love these chairs.
That chair is a first edition rope edge with original rocker base, and worth 1500-2000 on the open market to the right collector. Though as you said, it has a long family history so don't sell it ;-) Anyone saying they are looking for one knows what it is worth.
