Your sign is from the early 1950's and made by the American Art Works in Coshocton Ohio, the same company that made many of the serving trays from the 20's through the 50's.

Really? I was thinking mid to late 40's. Becasue the bottle doesn't just have the "trade mark registered", but also has "min contents. 6 fl ozs."

Petretti's has three similar ones. 1) a 1948 16"x40" with A.A.W. 5-2 on it 2) a 1952 18"x 36" with round corners, self edged and 3) a 1952 18"x36" square framed very similar. the one on my profile pic is 14"x 32" done on masonite and has A.M. 9-2 on bottom right.

A.A.W. might stand for Advertising Association of the West, they preceeded the BBB. A California Porcelain enameling company produced enameled signs for Coca Cola Co. in the western states to save on shipping costs from eastern mfgrs. At least that's the word on the street:-) 1948 looks good for a date. "Made in USA" may try to defend against European mfgrs. Thanks All!!!

hilcom, A.A.W. stands for "American Art Works" in conhoston ohio. Also, Almost every coca cola sign made for american use was made in USA.

cocacolakid97, thanks f0r your help! American Art Works was known for lithographing on tin. Do you know if they did enameling on steel?

I think so, it seems to make since that this was made from American Art Works, but I think I think the guy who post this maybe a little confused, I see dents in the metal, so I think this is litho tin oppossed to porcelain enamel.
