I have a stand alone Singer sewer with the serial#G8744109 that was my Grandmothers and would like to find out the date it was made.
Bo Arnold : I found two possible dates for your Singer with the serial # G8744109 .
I think the model is a 27 and that it was made in 1910 in St. Jean , Que'bec . That is all the information I can give you without seeing a picture of it .
G8744109 is a Singer 127 from the batch commissioned 13th May 1921 at Elizabethport, NJ. A 127 will have the two slide covers opening front and back, and automatic tension.
