A rare original catalogue of the Klimt Exhibition at the 18th Viennese Secession (1903). Major Gustav Klimt retrospective exhibition; including unfinished Jurisprudence; for the first time the three faculty pictures could be seen together (Medicine, Philosophy, & Jurisprudence). Installation design by Josef Hoffmann and Koloman Moser. The third of the Fakultatsbilder. November - December 1903. The second one man Klimt show, and a major retrospective in honor of Klimt. 78 works including 30 drawings and studies and many of the star paintings from earlier exhibitions such as Pallas Athene, Schubert at the Piano, and Die Musik II. Several portraits including that of lifelong companion Emilie Floge (painted 1902, first time exhibited). This catalog also features the first printing of Klimt's "Water Serpents" (black and white line lithograph), which caused quite a stir for it's frank nudity and sensuality.

Have you read Good Living Street by Tim bonyhady ? it is about his family who were major patrons of the WW and Klimt painted his grand mother Hermone Galla. The fled Vienna with most of their WW art etc and ended up in Australia .It is on exhibition in Melbourne right now!
