I found this at an estate sale and it feels like it is some kind of very smooth suede or leather, but may be some other material. It has a matching wallet and change purse, but no markings or tags. The metal on the closure is heavy, but I don't know if it's pewter or something else. I'd love to find out more about it, like the maker, age, ANYTHING! Thanks for looking!

Hi Camille. It sure looks like eel skin to me. Your purse is pretty but the front looks like Mt Fugi and the wallet is Egypt. The clasp looks Noveau but the wallet almost looks modern. Looking forward to others opinions.
