I bought these German awards about 15 years ago from the son of an American Army General who walked into an International Military Show which I was attending in Pikesville, MD. He also had a dozen or so cased diamond medals which he said were taken from the Reich Chancellery in Berlin by his father while he was a guest of the Russians in the Spring of 1945. He had an 8 X 10 glossy photo of his father in his uniform, his name was Reinhardt. I could only afford these three awards, and barely at that, even though he was selling the diamonds for the value of the diamonds and not the value of the medals. Note: Some of the cases were embossed PROBE which means trial, test or sample.
