This Show & Tell is for scandinavian_pieces, who posted a really nice Kosta Boda vase the other day. It's a small glass, like a shot glass, with painting on it by Ulrica Hydman-Vallien, who designs for Kosta Boda and others. Ulrica gave me this the summer I worked in the kitchen at the Pilchuck Glass School in Stanwood, Washington. She was teaching a class on (wait for it) painting on glass. As I understand it, you paint on the glass and then fire the piece to the point that the paint fuses to the glass, but not so hot that the glass slumps or deforms. This little glass does a fine job of holding Scotch. It's never leaked once...
