I have an old John Hay cigar box I was hoping you could give me some information on. The gold seal on the lid has “The M. Gilbert Tobacco Co” on it and on the inside lip it has “W.W. Stewart & Sons Reading, Penna. Makers”. I contacted the John Hay company but they didn’t have anything this old. They told me it would be from the early 1900’s. I think it is from the late 1800's. It is in really good condition.

This is Dave with John Hay Cigar company. I just happen to have that exact same box in front of me looking for info when I came here. Still believe it is from the early 1900s.
